“Shrimp” Southern spiced, cornmeal breaded, deep fried King Oyster Mushrooms. The Chick’n Po’ Boy (napkins necessary). You want the fried pickles you want them.

Crisping up that bbq tempeh for our vegan sisig! Marinated in banana ketchup, soy, garlic and ginger this tempeh from the awesome @tempehmeades isn’t a meat substitute, rather a delicious ingredient all of its own! Come get some!

Aurora Kusina was inspired by my mum ‘Aurora’ who grew up in Tondo, Manila, and came to the UK in the 70’s. She was an incredible cook and an amazing Mum. There was nothing she loved more than seeing people enjoy her food and epic banquets. She would be so proud to see that we’ve shared some of her recipes with you! ​

Gopal’s curry shack is 100% deliciously vegan. I’ve made the transition from vegetarian to vegan during the pandemic and haven’t looked back. We’ve been flexible in the past when customers asked us to serve dairy products but it’s time we drew a clear line. The business is an extension of myself and it just feels… right. I want to be 100% behind what I do and positioning Gopal’s curry shack as vegan is part of that. So excited and proud to be part of the vegan community.

We produce vibrant and creative Indian Street Food using the spices of India and local, seasonal produce. Taste and flavour are at the heart of what we make putting our own contemporary twist on classic dishes. Gopal’s Curry Shack ‘pop up’ at food festivals, markets, events and takeover kitchens all over the South West and beyond. We can cater for a range of occasions including weddings, parties, corporate events, location catering and celebrations. It’s really important to us that we use local, independent suppliers and that all the packaging we use is compostable and biodegradable.

Our aim is to create dishes which are based on familiar, ‘comfort food’ favourites. These dishes that inspire the menu are often the most meat- and dairy-filled, so there is a certain amount of experimentation and innovation involved to “veganise” them, resulting in an often unusual twist on the classic. As a result, the dishes are exciting, healthier and inclusive: they are suitable for herbivores and omnivores alike.

We now offer bespoke catering for all kinds of events, and our 2019 bookings are open. We can serve our signature street food from our gazebo for your garden party or festival-style wedding, or alternatively deliver food packaged up and ready to eat. Traditional stew and dumplings, just like Nana used to make. A range of stews made with locally sourced ingredients.

Alongside our famous ‘No Moo Stoo’ we will be offering our brand new ‘Moo Bean Stoo’, this is a delicious thick warming stew made with pulled aubergine, haricot beans and lentils slow cooked in cider with sage and wholegrain mustard. All served with vegan cheesy dumplings or plain herby dumplings.

After much experimentation with different recipes I give you, Vegan Yorkshire puddings!

Thanks so much for all the love so far everybody, thought I’d better hit you all up with a wee run down of the types of things I’ll be serving in and around Bristol.

– 24 hour jerk, 8 hour cold smoked tofu tacos, homemade smoked fruity bbq sauce, pickled ginger, red cabbage and fennel slaw and salad

– Braised, smoked beetroot and spicy black bean burger, caramelised pineapple, onion confit

– Smoked spiced Jack fruit gyros

I’m also tinkering away at some delicious smoked soup recipes which will switch up with the seasons.
