So we’ve made the decision to close at The Golden Lion until September. But we will be back in full swing there in September. Fear not we will still be doing our collab events with Pizzarova there and a few SPECIAL events over the summer (KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED!) But also YOU CAN STILL Get our food on delivery via our Easton Kitchen via Foodstuff and Deliveroo Thursday – Sunday.

We are a start up family run vegan business that is passionate to bring to Bristol our soulful family style BBQ food. I was introduced to veganism by my family in America 17 years ago, They showed me that to be meat-free didn’t mean your food had to be bland and lack soul. Some of these recipes are recipes that have been passed down to me and its exciting to share the world with these delights.

Music is the food for the soul, and we are here to prove to you our food is too! Our aim is not to exclude meat eaters but introduce them to what a plant-based diet can really be, soulful, tasty and succulent! Nothing brings people together like good food – And we can promise you that our food is good.

Built from the ground up with refurbished and recycled materials, we’re really proud of our Bristol restaurant. It captures our ethos perfectly, which is all about building a more sustainable future and a better food system.

Here’s a whistle stop video tour around the beautiful Purezza Bristol. You can almost taste the pizza… almost. Hey, stop licking your screen. We look forward to seeing you soon.

The Kandyan was founded by the owners of Rangala Guest house in upcountry Sri Lanka. Head Chef Sam and joint owner of Rangala has an eclectic background yet remains in part grounded in tradition.

The Sri Lankan spices grown in his market garden surrounding Rangala House provide an important link between the two projects. Chef Sam is not only using home grown spices, but is also using home-roasted curry powder, his own grown tea, and traditional Sri Lankan techniques. Having lived in Bristol for 9 years, Sam truly is the Bristol Kandyan and in that vein is now growing local herbs in the restaurant’s back-garden and is innovating in his methods to fuse both his heritage and his experiences in England and beyond.

You’ll find service with a smile, an inclusive menu that is predominantly gluten free with plenty of vegan options. The cooking is versatile and you can ask for the curry to be as hot as you like it.

Eat seasonal British food, drink great coffee, local ales and ciders. Listen to the best Bristol live musicians & DJ’s. Check out the work of emerging artists featured throughout the venue.

What does the word ‘gallimaufry’ mean? Once a hodgepodge stew of humble ingredients made on the galleys, it evolved to represent up-cycled things to wear and use around the home. Our interpretation? Making the best out of what’s available to us on a daily basis. Re-using, up-cycling or re-cycling; working with local suppliers, artists & artisans wherever possible. The venue was transformed in 5 days on the site of the former Prom Music Bar with a shoe-string budget in March, 2012.

We support, accept and trade the Bristol Pound (we’re the Gloucester Rd access point).

Galli plates – our take on tapas style small plates – are available day and night during kitchen hours. We split our menu into vegetarian, fish & meat options for clarity and there’s always 2 vegan dishes on offer. Pop in to try our 3 selected dishes for £15 offer 12-7pm, Monday-Friday! We take great pride in our Sunday roasts. Our vegan nut roast – currently cashew and pecan – is a tasty alternative. All served with seasonal vegetables.

The Eat a Pitta falafel recipe originated in Grandma Yolandes’ kitchen in the back streets of Algiers more than 70 years ago. As a kid I was always glued to my grandmothers side as she taught me how to make the perfect falafel, crispy on the outside, moist in the middle.

Armed with my grandma’s secret recipe and 12 years experience cooking in the restaurant biz, I realised my dream in November 2011 and opened ‘eat a pitta’ in St Nicholas market in Bristol.

Come and try our delicious falafels at Eat a Pitta today! Hopefully you will be able to taste that little bit of history in every bite!
