Who’s excited to try out the Vegan Menu with 100% GMO free & vegan waffles, crepes, cookie doughs, sorbets & more!

The Creams story is one of passion, commitment… and big flamboyant desserts. It took many years of research and tasting gelato, waffles and crepes (tough job but someone’s got to do it) to perfect the concept. But we persevered and, when we opened the first Creams in 2008 and soon had queues stretching out of the door, we knew we’d got something right.

Named after the year the vegetarian society formed, 1847 serves modern dishes across four menus; á la carte, taster, Sunday lunch and express lunch. Alongside our food, we serve cocktails, wines, beers and spirits.

Our vision is to bring traditional Asian Street food to belly’s in Bristol.

The vegan options directly from the menu are: from mains Tofu and Mushroom Salad box with a soy, lime and sesame dressing; and from sides: Miso Soup; Edamame beans; Vegan Kimbap, the Korean version of sushi flavoured with sesame and filled with veggies and tofu, which is made fresh every day, usually to order.

We can also easily ‘veganise’ 2 of the other mains on request; our Bibimbap which is rice, 7 seasoned vegetables and tofu and mushroom option served with our homemade traditional Korean gochujang sauce; and the Banh Mi which is the Vietnamese style baguette with veggies, pickles and the tofu and mushroom option. We also use a separate grill for cooking all the veg/vegan options.

No.1 Harbourside

No.1 Canons Rd, Bristol BS1 5HU

no 1 harbourside

When No.1 Harbourside opened its doors in 2010 we wanted to show the people of Bristol we were not “just another bar”.

We take deliciousness seriously. Our Mums always said not to rush our food and we like the Slow Food philosophy of “good, clean and fair” – food that’s delicious, with no nasties and a fair price to producers.

We like meat, but think it should be a treat, so our menu includes a range of vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options. Next to seasonal main courses, our chefs enjoy tempting adventurous customers with a selection of ‘small plates’.

We’ve been awarded the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s highest rating of three stars in recognition of our sourcing policy, how we dispose of our waste, our use of renewable energy, our commitments to our staff and being an active member of the community.

King William Ale House

king william

Many pubs are closing but we keep ours open and well maintained serving the local community and offering value for money. The pubs only stock Samuel Smith’s Brewery products.

All Samuel Smith’s beers are brewed solely from authentic natural ingredients without any chemical additives, raw material adjuncts, artificial sweeteners, colourings, flavourings or preservatives. Samuel Smith’s pubs sell our own range of Scintilla Soft Drinks. All Scintilla Soft Drinks are suitable for a vegan diet except for the Tomato Juice Cocktail which contains anchovies.

The pub is quiet enough to talk, with the house possessing neither a radio nor a piano. A creamy sort of draught stout is served. In winter there is generally a good fire burning in at least two of the bars
