We are Nikki, Matt and Issy and we live in Fishponds, Bristol. Over the years we’ve become more interested in reducing the amount of plastic we use at the same time as sourcing more ethically grown food. We found ourselves traveling to other parts of Bristol but wanted easy access to buying this food without single use packaging. Chatting to local friends we found they wanted the same thing too. So we decided to bring the refill shop to Fishponds, well to our home in fact!

Bloop

123 Oxford Street, Totterdown, Bristol BS3 4RH

Hairy Jayne makes hair care products that help women take better care of their dry hair – with a choice of divine fragrances. The products are made from the best moisturising ingredients available. Naturally derived, vegan ingredients that cause the least harm to us on our skin, and the least harm to our world when they end up down the plug. Sulfates and parabens are out, and plant oils and fragrant essential oils are definitely in. All of the products have been registered with the Vegan Society and are 100% cruelty free.

Her customers started asking if they could return their bottles shortly after Blue Planet was first aired.

We stock household products from companies that are ethical, use sustainable resources and are in no way associated with animal cruelty. We’ve tried to find a broad range of products to suit all budgets – from local makers who use the most natural and high-end ingredients and packaging to ethical companies who mass produce their products (making them cheaper). Hopefully there’s something for everyone! We have a plastic free / refill shop called bloop.

Zero Green

80 North Street, Bedminster, Bristol BS3 1HJ

100% of our products are #vegan!

New Opening Times Folks: Now you will be able to do your shopping with us Every Day! We hope that the late opening over week days helps all those that finish work a bit later.

Zero Green came about for two reasons; firstly, we were both becoming frustrated about how much packaging there is on everyday items and our understanding of how much damage plastic, and specifically single use plastic, was doing to our planet. Secondly, we realised that if we wanted to see something done about it we would have to do it ourselves!

There is no small quantity in zero green: you can buy as much as you want and if you think you´ve filled too much…don´t panic! There will be plenty of pots around the shop to poured any left over, which will create a funny mixture for us to take home at the end of the day 🙂 of course, it won´t be wasted!

Smaller Footprints

www.smallerfootprints.co.uk

9 Regent Street, Clifton Village, Bristol BS8 4HW

Smaller Footprints is a contribution to the growing rebellion against single-use packaging. We enable our customers to bypass the outdated convention of shrouding items in throwaway packaging. Say no to the status quo? Smaller Footprints is a zero waste shop located in Clifton, Bristol. We sell a wide range of single-use packaging free food and non-food items.

Why? The wasteful nature of single-use packaging contributes to climate change and the degradation of the natural environment, as well as the life it hosts. Every piece of packaging that can be avoided or re-used reduces the demand for new packaging to be created. For this reason Smaller Footprints was created to provide an alternative to single-use packaging.

What do we sell? Our products include rices, pastas, beans, cereals, nuts (and grind-your-own nut butter!), chocolate, herbs & spices, loose teas, coffee beans, cooking oils, flours, sugar, cleaning products and a range of environmentally conscious non-food items.
