TSUKEMONO is Adam and Iris. We met on a beach in Cambodia and instantly started talking about Japan; comparing notes on favourite films, artists and, of course, food. Determined to recreate the tastes we both found in Japan, we taught ourselves to cook all the dishes we couldn’t find back home. Five years later, with a notebook full of recipes, we’ve settled in Bristol. Tsukemono means “pickled things”. Pickles are a staple of Japanese cuisine that round out the flavour profile of any dish. All our food is served with a choice of pickles. Our logo is based on the shape of a pickled lotus root or renkon.
Always indulgent, never unhealthy. Our menu is flexible and adaptable, with seasonal fillings and toppings. Hearty curries in the autumn, light snacks in the summer. Healthy options for lunch and fried indulgences for night-time bites.
