Thali Cafe

The Thali Cafe was born nearly 15 years ago in the fields of Summer music festivals. Inspired by our travels in India and disappointed with the Indian food we found in restaurants back home, we decided to introduce the UK to authentic Indian street food.

The Thali Cafe has become a bit of a Bristol institution since then, with four further restaurants opening in Clifton, Easton, Totterdown and most recently Southville. We’ve grown gradually, staying faithful to the principles we built the business on whilst continually improving what we do and how we do it. The Thali Cafe

Plenty of vegan-friendly options. They do a dairy-free thali (dhal, rice, veg curry, tomato salsa, raw salad). Plenty of starters/sides are vegan and delicious too: the red pepper pakoras, potato bondas, aloo paratha, samosas… The dhaal is really nice too. I found the service in the Clifton branch a bit lacking, and much preferred the service and atmosphere of the Southville one.
