Roll for the Soul is a not-for-profit bike café, workshop and event space. We have a cafe and workshop side by side, so you can get a good feed, a good coffee, and get your bike fixed up all at the same time.
Our light, bright, licensed cafe offers healthy, hearty vegetarian and vegan food from good sources at good prices. We’re not totally organic (although all our dairy and many of our other ingredients are) or local (although many of our suppliers are, including our good friends at East Bristol Bakery and Edible Futures, both of whom deliver by bike). But we do take pride in working with suppliers who share our values and avoiding those who don’t. The standard menu is here, but we have a range of specials every day too.
The Soul Burger with its top-secret recipe is a herby, hearty, handful of goodness, served with fresh salads and homemade relish with plenty of zing. Any dish can be eaten in or taken away. Of course there are plenty of indulgent cakes, bakes, treats and snacks too, including lots of dairy-free options. Everything’s veggie and around half of the menu is vegan. If you think that might not satisfy you, we invite you to come for a khobez and see if you still fancy a kebab later.
We’ve changed our beer selection a bit, so we now have the following vegan choice: Butcombe Brunel Atlantic IPA, Butcombe Blond, Butcombe Bitter, Budvar, Weston’s Wyld Wood organic cider, Ashton Press cider, Bristol Beer Factory Hefe. We also do a mean vegan affogato and our signature coffee, the Ventoux Fuel (espresso, brown sugar, smooth steamed milk, brandy and nutmeg).
You can hire the whole café or The Hub for a private function, with food from our everyday menu or something cooked up just for you. But what we’re really about is providing a space with food and drink good enough to make you want to hang around, socialise, relax and basically improve your day a bit.
