The Eat a Pitta falafel recipe originated in Grandma Yolandes’ kitchen in the back streets of Algiers more than 70 years ago. As a kid I was always glued to my grandmothers side as she taught me how to make the perfect falafel, crispy on the outside, moist in the middle.
Armed with my grandma’s secret recipe and 12 years experience cooking in the restaurant biz, I realised my dream in November 2011 and opened ‘eat a pitta’ in St Nicholas market in Bristol.
Come and try our delicious falafels at Eat a Pitta today! Hopefully you will be able to taste that little bit of history in every bite!
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this is by far the best falafel I’ve ever had, and I’ve had A LOT. It’s even better than all the falafel I ate in Israel. This stuff is amazing.
They’re not very pricey and you get a phenomenal amount of food for what you pay – I don’t always finish it because it’s incredibly bulky. Lashings and lashings of salad and tabbouleh and falafel and pickled onions and gherkins and green chilli… I want to go there now, just talking about it!
Things to bear in mind:
Everything is vegan EXCEPT their tahini sauce. This contains dairy.
Everything is gluten free EXCEPT their pitta and tabbouleh.

I echo everything Sian says, the variety of fillings and value for money is amazing. I too am hungry just thinking about it.
